I was thinking today that this time last year I was patiently waiting for my first Royal Python eggs to hatch... and I realised I have snake breeding blues! I decided not to breed any of my Royals this year because I'm waiting to get some new morphs and work out my pairings, but I definitely miss the excitement of snake breeding.
Because of this I had a look through the photos I took last year of Mumma Fifi and the babies, and I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you guys :)
Fifi actually laid her eggs on my Mum's birthday (20th April). What a lovely birthday present!
Fifi laid five beautiful healthy eggs! I candled all of them, and they all had veins which is obviously a great sign. Now for the long wait...
This picture was taken pretty close to when the babies hatched. I was a little worried about the egg at the bottom of the photo because of how dented it was... but it hatched fine!
Here are my five beautiful healthy babies! I was so proud of Mumma Fifi and Daddy Milo for creating these wonderful pythons.
The first shed! This usually happens about 10 days after the babies hatch.
This is a picture of one of the hatchlings after it had it's first shed. You can see how lovely the colours and markings are :)
The last picture is of a hatchling and Mumma Fifi. I think it's funny how crazy the baby's markings look compared to Fifi's because it's so small.
I hope you enjoyed looking at some of my photos. I love to look back at them... but it;s definitely giving me the Snake Breeding Blues!
xoxo
