I've been having a look at the different morphs I'm planning to breed, and I've finally come up with a shopping list! There are so many morphs I want to create through breeding, but rather than buying these morphs from a breeder, I'm going to buy the base morphs and then breed the designer morphs I want! In the next couple of months I am planning to buy the following:
Males:
Mojave
Pinstripe
Cinnamon
Females:
Butter
Pastel
As you can imagine these are going to make some beautiful babies! I'm really excited about starting these breeding projects in the future. However, I'm going to buy all these morphs as hatchlings then bring them up myself until they are ready to breed. I think it's important to treat your Royal Pythons with care, rather then just treating them like they are breeding machines. At the end of the day I love snakes and their well being is more important to me than making money from breeding them. I see it as more of a hobby than a money making plan, and I'm definitely in it for the love!
So as I will be raising these morphs from hatchlings, they won't be ready to breed until a couple of years time (the females at least)! So this November - depending on if I am happy with the weight that Fifi is by then - I will be breeding Fifi and Rupert to hopefully hatch some beautiful Spider and Normal babies :) and I'm so excited already!
I'll be doing posts on the breeding process with pictures of copulation, ovulation and the laying of the eggs (if I can catch these moments that is) so hopefully it will be educational and maybe give you guys some help in case you want to breed your Royal Pythons. It's a really rewarding process, and I was so proud of Fifi when she laid her eggs the first time.
If you're planning to breed your Royal Pythons this breeding season leave a comment below and let me know what your pairings are and what you are hoping to hatch out :)
xoxo
