Pimp my Viv!

Many of you may have read my 'Setting up your vivarium' post which focuses on all the must haves and requirements for creating a suitable environment for your Royal Python. Now after you've got all the necessary bits and bobs, such as lighting/thermostats etc. it's time to have some fun!

Making your vivarium look aesthetically pleasing can also have some perks for your Royal! Giving them an interesting layout, which lots of places to climb and explore can make them more active and keep them from being bored. It also looks awesome for us owners!

Everyone will have different ideas of how they want to lay out and decorate their vivariums. You've seen mine, but now I thought I'd show off my boyfriend's vivarium for his Royal Python 'Whiskey'.

You can purchase various types of vines and use branches to create places for your Royal Python to climb. It also gives the vivarium a 'jungle' look.

Arranging the branches this way makes it easier for your Royal to get up to the heat bulb if they want some extra heat! It also looks pretty cool as well :)

As you can see, Whiskey loves to hang out on the branches next to her heat bulb.

When we were in a local reptile shop, they were selling this square of artificial grass at a really good price and the shop assistant recommended it. Whiskey loves to explore through this grass, and it can also act as a second hiding place which makes her feel safe and secure.

I hope you enjoyed looking at these photos. Soon we are going to get some polystyrene and create some 3D background landscapes for our vivariums to give them some more dimension. I'll be doing a blog post and possibly a video, so look out for that!

I'd love to see what some of your vivariums look like, so please feel free to tweet me some pictures on my Twitter account: @LolaRoyals

xoxo
